Robert made his figures appear like thin tottering giants, stretching out the more realistic and earthy torsos from his earlier version. The addition of two small doors on either side of the group enhance the sense of scale. The corridor walls have also been squeezed closer, making the space much tighter. The elongated figures and strong light give a sense that the bodies are more spirit than physical presence. Their walk may be along a path to a newly invigorated life or it may be a path marking the end of a final journey.
